About
the Bantam Program
The Bantam Program is the introduction to
soccer for most young players. The YYSC
Bantam program
was one of the first in the region to utilize micro soccer
per the recommendations of US Soccer. The
advantages of micro soccer includes more
touches on the ball for each player, all
players get involved, the goalkeepers are
challenged more frequently, and players get
to score more often.
The program philosophy is to develop love of
the game with the young players. Coaches are
encouraged to provide relatively equal
playing time for all players. Standings and
scores are not kept nor are they emphasized.
